This public program is presented in conjunction with the Cultural Fluency: Engagements with Contemporary Brooklyn exhibition at BRIC Rotunda Gallery. Join the artists and curator of the show for Q&As and a discussion on inhabiting and impacting the city through art. Artist Aisha Cousins will also direct one of her interactive performance art scores, originally written as part of her project From Here I Saw What Happened and I Could Not Understand (aka the Obama Skirt Project). Participating in the Q&As will be the BedStuy Story Skirters – a group of women who have been re-performing Cousins' project based on a pop culture practice found in many African countries of wearing clothes that depict political leaders.
