TEONAHT, ACCESS TO THE WORLD OF IMAGINARY LANGUAGE (DISCUSSION)
Sally Caves - fantasy writer, author of teleplays (notably "Hollow Pursuits" for Star Trek; TNG), conlanger, and Professor of English at the University of Rochester - will talk about the art of constructing an imaginary language, highlighting some of the notable language inventors few have heard of outside of Tolkien, as well as her lifelong invention: Teonaht. As Sarah Higley, her “real” name, she is the author of Hildegard of Bingen’s Unknown Language (New York: Palgrave-Macmillan, 2007).
