In-Between - Online Video Art Exhibition

'In-Between' brings together five video works that were made in 2003-2008 by the video artist Guli Silberstein. The works deal with in-between cognitive situations, influenced by the political turmoil of the beginning of the 21st century, as experienced or imagined through video as a medium.
Selecting Facebook for the online exhibition is a natural continuation of the works' interest in the issue of ‘place’, raising questions regarding context of art presentation. It’s interesting to address Facebook as a space for showing art work, which is situated in between an alternative space and a commercial environment, allowing the artist to autonomously show art in an accessible art space, while on the other hand it is a commercial environment and is under the patronage of Facebook owners.
