The Centro Cultural España Cordoba, which is a member of the AECID network, is organizing an International Exhibition of Contemporary Art, which will take place in October 2010 in different public spaces of the City of Cordoba. Artists from all over the world will participate in this event. The curators will be Gerardo Mosquera -from Cuba- and Rodrigo Alonso -from Argentina-. This exhibition will consist of four sections:

Public Spaces: the artists will carry out ephemeral interventions, specially designed and produced for Cordoba on streets, squares and other external spaces in the city. Eight artists will take part in this section.

El Panal: works of art of a more technological nature as well as interventions and installations will be held at an unused building with symbolic meaning. This section seeks to explore the excellent possibilities of interaction of contemporary art with heterodox spaces, outside the traditional venues of art galleries and museums.

Residences: four artists will be invited to take a month’s residence to participate in a research and participatory project with a school, community or other social group in Cordoba. Moreover, in residence artists will take part in a specific project together with professors and students at the HIGHER SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS “DR. JOSE FIGUEROA ALCORTA”. Contrary to the more rapid, spontaneous and synthetic character of the works of art in public spaces, the aim of this section is to develop profound and more systematic projects carried out in a relatively longer period of time.

The Auditorium Program: one of the major proposals of OUT! Art in Public Spaces is to offer a series of conferences and debates comprised in the Auditorium Program, in which prestigious guests from Argentina and from different foreign countries will take part. Besides the guests, the conferences and debates will include the participation of the audience. In addition to current issues regarding contemporary art, the CITY concerns and the present urban reality will be analyzed from the perspective of specialists in different fields, such as Sociology, Anthropology, Art, Literature and Cultural Management.
