Prof Dr Paulo Bernardino, da Universidade de Aveiro - Portugal.

Paulo Bernardino é doutor em estudos de arte e professor (diretor) do programa de pós-graduação em Criação Artística Contemporânea na Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal), no Departamento de Comunicação e Arte. Artista plástico, que desenvolveu a sua formação inicial na Escola Superior de Belas-Artes do Porto (Artes Plásticas: Escultura - 1991), indo depois complementar a sua formação com um Mestrado em Artes (Sculpture (M.A), - Royal College of Art, London, U.K. - 1995), concluindo a sua formação académica de regresso a Portugal (Doutoramento em Estudos de Arte na Universidade de Aveiro - 2006). Enquanto Artista começa por utilizar, como meio de expressão, técnicas mais tradicionais enquadradas pelas disciplinas do desenho e da escultura. Estando atualmente direcionado para os meios de produção tecnológicos, através da imagem, procura intersectar, na sua obra, a tecnologia digital como ponto de fusão - questionando o espaço da ação do observador através da interação. Procurando articular o seu campo de pesquisa entre a teoria e a prática, desenvolve o seu universo de investigação olhando para as imagens produzidas através das várias mediações tecnológicas (da pintura tradicional ao digital contemporâneo). Publicou: “Na Senda da Imagem: A Representação e a Tecnologia na Arte”; “Invocando o Arquivo”; “Imagem, tecnologia e arte”; “The Intersection of Technology In The Process of Image Creation; the Image, the Technology and the Art”. Faz parte do comité cientifico do ARTECH (International Conference on Digital and Electronic Art) desde 2006.
