Propeller invites artists working in all media to participate in the exhibition, GLITCH: The Beauty of Malfunction.

Glitch is a↾ault in a system, a swerve in a flow of data, a de ion from the script.
Glitch is also an approach to art and music, orchestrating the clicks and buzzes of the systems of production themselves In the output, there is a momentary overl⪪p of noise and signal a vital skew, vitality askew – the emancipation of noise…

Extending John Cage’s aesthetics of “non-intention,” the glitch artist works with the tics, flourishes, and hesitations of media and mediation. Digital and electronic media provide built-in capacities for blunder, of course, but there are glitches in material and analog systems as well: a finger in the frame, happy/unhappy accidents, spoiled negatives, miscalculations (of resources, of timing), and general system breakdowns. Emerging from the interface, glitch makes of itself an indeterminate determination, an artefact of artefaction.

This is a call for anything that escaped your notice until it was too late.

But then became itself, speaking in its own voice in spite of the noise.

All media will be considered, as long as the work was generated by glitch.
