Assistant Professor of Art
Visual Communication Design

Western Oregon University announces a tenure track Assistant Professor of Art position in Visual Communication Design (VCD). Established in 2012, WOU’s growing VCD program combines studio art foundations with a rigorous upper division curriculum in graphic design and digital art. Depending upon the successful candidate’s skills and interests, teaching opportunities may include interactive media, web art & design, video, animation, 3D modeling, graphic design theory & process, photography, typography, print design, and/or digital images.

Qualifications: MFA or PhD related to digital art and design, and teaching experience at the college/university level required. The ideal applicant is an energetic teacher of graphic design principles and practices, conceptually engaged with currents in new media art and design, an expert user and instructor of applicable software and technologies, and an effective mentor and advisor of undergraduate students.

Start Date: September 2014
