Call for electroacoustic music: Acousmatic for the people festival

ACOUSMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE III and IV - Call for electroacoustic works

Deadline: April 17th, 2014
No entry fee

gruppoGruppo (www.gruppoGruppo.com) is seeking for electroacoustic music works to be included in the Acousmatic For The People festival.

www.acousmaticforthepeople.tumblr.com

The call, directed towards composers of 40 years of age or less, is free of charge and is intended for including works in the Winter edition of 2014 and the Spring edition of 2015, but pieces may be considered also for future editions.
The pieces will diffused live on our acousmonium by our team, on a variable setup (usually 30 to 40 speakers). The venue of the festival is Inter Arts Center in Malmö, Sweden. www.iac.lu.se

We want to select some pieces for performance; some of them may be even included in our stable repertoire.
We are especially looking for pieces which are out of the stereotypes of electroacoustic music.

Info on the performers:
Alessandro Perini: www.alessandroperini.com
Fabio Monni: www.fabiomonni.com

Possible themes are:
- Synthesis: pieces exclusively built with synthetic sound, falling outside the historically abused techniques.
- Collage/Remix: pieces which challenge the traditional patchwork or remake techniques, and show a new perspective on the use of ready-made of found pieces of music.
- Irony: pieces which suggest surrealistic visions and treat the musical material with an ironic view. (It doesn’t mean that they must be hilarious).

Of course we are open to other categories of electroacoustic music.
Take a look on our repertoire to have a glimpse of what we like to play:
