The Cinema Department at Binghamton University offers a unique B.A. program that puts formal and aesthetic issues in cinema into active dialogue with its theoretical and social dimensions (http://www.binghamton.edu/cinema/).

The Department seeks applicants for a full time tenure track appointment to teach production and aesthetics. Applicants are being sought whose works demonstrate unique artistic approaches to film/video production and who exhibit a capacity for critical discourse. The integration of alternative processes involving installation, performance, animation, and new media are of interest. Applicants must have an MFA, a commitment to teaching, and a strong record of achievement in creative work. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This is an affiliated position for Material and Visual Worlds, one of five Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence (TAEs) that Binghamton University has identified for growth under the auspices of its SUNY 2020 plan. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of this TAE as an area of intensive research and teaching.
