Harbor for the Arts Festival 2013 welcomes guest faculty Noémie Lafrance, two-time Bessie-awardee and Grammy-nominated choreographer/filmmaker for a workshop investigating the intersection of sound, movement, and place for the screen.

Whether you are a choreographer interested in Dance for the Camera, an editor interested in capturing a deeper sensitivity for phrasing, or a director curious to exercise your creative skills in an experimental setting, this workshop is designed to offer an interdisciplinary, deep, and productive experience that will charge your creative approach and offer new perspectives for your filmmaking.

Set in the charming, seaside, historical town of Cape Charles, Virginia in a vintage 1940's Art Deco style theatre, this two week workshop is open to faculty, professionals, and advanced students interested in dance for the camera and experimental film. All disciplines are welcomed and encouraged to apply.

A unique opportunity to immerse in the filmmaking process where cinema and sound design production values meet the experimental world of dance film. Italy's Ivir Danza Company, directed by Irma Cardano, will be in residence as performers for all the workshop films produced during the two week period. All you have to do is bring yourself, an open mind, and your curiosity to deeply investigate performance for the screen…
