The Art Department at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a full-time, assistant professor, tenure-track, starting August 2013. MFA required. Applicants should demonstrate the following:
• a broad knowledge of digital technologies as applied to art
• expertise in related software necessary for instruction at a foundations level
• experience with at least two of the following fields: digital imaging, digital illustration, new media, net art, and/or video/animation/motion graphics.
College level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching Foundation Digital Media courses in the foundations program with the opportunity to teach courses in other departmental programs on a secondary basis. The candidate will be expected to provide input and support for computing facilities, advise undergraduate students, mentor MFA students, perform departmental and/or university committee service and maintain an active record of professional engagement.
