The Art Department at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) seeks candidates for a Lecturer/ Lab manager in Digital Photography. This is a three-year fixed term appointment with teaching responsibilities of four courses per year as well as administrative responsibilities including maintenance and management of digital printing, two computer labs, and photography and video equipment. Starting date July 1, 2013.

Duties include teaching 4 courses per year in photography and digital imaging. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the maintenance of two computer labs, digital printing maintenance, managing the photography and video equipment, as well as supervising work-study students and graduate assistants. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and active participation in departmental and university service is expected.

Qualifications include an MFA degree and teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following: Macintosh computer lab maintenance, audiovisual equipment maintenance, digital printing and scanning equipment, color management and rendering software, Adobe software, and video production and editing. The successful candidate must be fluent with the history and contemporary theory of lens-based media.
