The greatest challenge and most important element in a successful portrait is an intimate connection with the subject. Explore the different styles and methods of making revealing portraits that reflect not just the subject but you, the photographer, as well. Demonstrate the sensitivity necessary to move beyond literal renderings to more intimate portraits. Create images that go below the surface and penetrate deeply into a subject's character. Tell a story with the camera and with the subject that leaves both you and the viewer wanting more. All images selected by juror will be exhibited throughout the Mpls Photo Center Galleries and published in an Exhibit Book for purchase. Cost for Entry: $35 for first 5 images, $10 for each additional image. Exhibition dates: June 22nd through August 19th 2012. Exhibit Juror: Andrea Mellard Curator of Exhibitons and Public Programs at AMOA - Arthouse in Austin, Texas.
