About the workshop
An introductory workshop to the theories, tools, and strategies for
data visualization: a transversal discipline with great
communication potential that enables the understanding of large
abstract sets of data flooding us every day.
Starting from a conceptual definition and an historical reading of
data visualization major references, the intent is to create an
environment for critical analysis and experimentation in this field.
An exercise will be proposed, starting from a data set, the
participants will be invited to explore its informational
significance by collecting, analyzing, selecting and filtering the
data and to represent its content developing models that can provide
a significant interaction with the user. For such, we’ll go through
various disciplines (design, mathematics, computation, sciences) and
theories (graphs, complexity, emergence) with the intent to create a
significant experience of information.
