ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION
POSITION AVAILABLE: DIGITAL ART AND DESIGN

DESCRIPTION: Assistant Professor of Art. This is a nine month, tenure-track position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree (M.A., MFA, Ph.D. or equivalent) in Digital Art, Digital Design, New Media or related field. College-level teaching experience required. Demonstrated commitment to professional activity; knowledgeable of digital art and design and new media technologies, as applied to critical and contemporary practice; and, a thorough knowledge of contemporary art/design, theory and criticism, are all expected. Demonstrated commitment to inter- and cross-disciplinary collaboration in teaching and research within the College and the University is desired.

The committee is encouraging applications from qualified candidates whose teaching and creative work engages one or more of the following areas of creative research: 3D/4D modeling and animation, interactive design, game development and object oriented programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES: A commitment to excellence in both teaching and creative work is expected. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Visual Arts' Interdisciplinary Digital Studio Program, which offers a digital design degree (Bachelor of Design) and in the New Media Studio Program, offering Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees. Active participation in graduate program across all disciplines, plus other school duties, is expected.

STARTING DATE: August 2012.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
