I started this exhibition with a completely different idea in mind. But on the night of May 1st I heard through the grapevine that Osama Bin Laden, the man responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks had been shot dead in Afghanistan. After reading more about it and talking to many friends, I decided to change my exhibition to one that represented ideas of terrorism as well as the paths we can choose from here on out. Some believe peace is an impossible idea that we will never fully see, as shown in the piece "138 seconds of peace?". They believe that in this day and age, with the constant threat of terrorist attacks and of all our war, it is us, the new generation that will soon be making the decisions. "!C!" really goes to show how scary this current and constant threat is and that we are going to be the ones making the decision. We need to take into account many factors to decide where we will take our planet. We need to be ready for the future, whichever face it may take as represented in the artwork, "The Future is Fake." As we will be the ones choosing how we want to take care of our planet when we come to the next fork in the road. The future is on the horizon and it is in our capable hands.
