Data is all around us, and even inside our very dna, yet it is invisible until represented in some sensory form. The pieces in this exhibit each attempt to present different types of data in a visual and sometimes audio format, a format in which the data was not originally intended to be represented. The first three pieces, atari-noise, gameboy_ultraF_uk, and '44422435 to nowhere' each utilize game consoles and games themselves which are subjected to electrical or other interferences, causing the graphics data stored in the machines to become corrupt, displaying strange designs and artifacts. self-portrait is created using data formed by the genetic code of the author, while the two remaining pieces each gather together parts of data from around the internet and combine it together into an audiovisual art piece. Each of these works shares a common theme of creation through corruption, producing original work by manipulating data, altering it from it's intended purpose into something different and unique.

Artofmoney | 2 years agoThat Atari inspired image is one I've come across a few times in my childhood although I must say this is the first time I've seen it presented as art. Very unique!
