Living in a Virtual World (2011)

Technology is advancing further and quicker than ever before. Already we use technology to build cities, grow crops, rebuild broken human bodies, slaughter other humans, and even escape the confines of Earth itself. However, each person has a different vision of how things should work and how the world ought to be. Creating cities, killing enemies, raising a family, or playing god all takes time and has rather serious consequences. It is these desires which video games help us fulfill. As technology advances cyberspace becomes an ever more interactive local. Eventually there will be entire cyber-worlds in addition to the real world we all have to live in. Which world would you rather be in, the fantasy world without limitations or the real world where John Q. Everyman is literally one in a billion with his nose to the grindstone?
