In my exhibit, I explore the existence of a Virtual Reality within an actual reality. My idea was highly influenced by Second Life, and the way Virtual Reality can reflect the real world, and vice-versa. The art pieces in my exhibit give light to a new phenomenon that mankind was only able to dream of for centuries: a reality that is separate from the real world. With the advancement of technology, we are able to create new selves and exists the way we want to. However, I also believe that the virtual reality we can be a part of on the computer can also seep into the real world. For example, RobinAstro.txt is a personality that exists in the virtual world through various online accounts. However, because these online places are perceived to be occupied by humans from the real world, she becomes a real, sentient being by the new standards of existence within a network-based world. As we are being engulfed by Virtual Reality, what will be the new definition of existence?
