Not so frequently asked/answered questions (2002)

In this work the Internet is seen as a provider of voice and memory, a voice for the artist and the participant and a memory of the Zeitgeist, the time of participation.

Full Description

The web as a global system of communication can be an ideal medium in the creation of dialogue between art and those who experience it. By constructing a content database-driven site that requires user input I tried to develop a better understanding of the Other by the communion of individual ideas, an utopian space where the differences co-exist peacefully, a form of dialog art, or the peaceful co-existence through dialogue.

Artist Statement

This work was born of the feeling that there are questions that aren't asked or answered quite as often as they probably should for our growth as individuals. Also this work reflects the belief that by working in the web I can be productive and reach a large audience without filling the world with more objects.
