WHO

VISUAL ARTISTS [Video, 2D Imagery (photos, prints, drawings, mappings etc.)]
SOUND ARTISTS
PERFORMANCE ARTISTS [Actions, Interventions etc.]
WRITERS
and any intermedia / interdisciplinary mixes of the above

WHAT

RIDERS ON THE TRAIN, organized by Boston-based artist Nancy Davies, is an art project seeking your creative work made while [or in response to] riding on public transportation [subway train or bus]:

Several works from the first call for the ‘Riders Project’ were included in the Text and Video show at Axiom Center for New and Experimental Media in Boston, MA, Aug-Sept 2008. A second, expanded version will occur at Axiom – Fall 2009.


HOW TO PARTICIPATE

RESPOND to your experience riding the subway train [or bus] with:
Video [with or without sound] [1 - 5 min; high quality .dv files, codec DV/DVCPRO - NTSC]

Sound Art [1 - 5 min; .wav or .aif files; 16 bit 48 kHz]

Visual Imagery [photos, prints, drawings, mappings etc.; for submission: .jpgs, 600 x 800 dpi]

Proposals: Performance / Actions / Interventions

Text Pieces [poetry, prose, journal entries – 500 words max]

Performance-related Proposals

ALL TEXT FILES (Text Pieces, Proposals, Bio & Contact Info) [doc, .rtf or .txt files]

SUBMIT on CD or DVD [MAC FRIENDLY]

SUBMISSION DEADLINE by USPS: July 31, 2009 [postmark date]
