Harford Community College, founded in 1957, invites individuals who find value and job satisfaction in an environment where they can contribute to promoting the holistic development of students and improving the quality of life for area residents. HCC is the primary resource for and coordinator of higher education in the community and serves as the center for recreation, wellness, and the cultural arts. The college is located three miles east of Bel Air, Maryland approximately 30 miles north of Baltimore, Maryland and 50 miles south of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The colleges central campus consisting of 19 buildings on 331 acres supports an annual student body of more than 7,700 credit and 15,000 noncredit students.

INTERIOR DESIGN FACULTY - THREE-YEAR TERM APPOINTMENT

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $35,500 - $47,000

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a renewable three-year term (9 months) appointment position with the first year beginning August 21, 2006 and ending May 20, 2007; exact dates for subsequent years will be determined as the academic calendar is developed. The instructor will be responsible for teaching courses such as Introduction to Interior Design, History of Furniture and Decorative Arts, Space Planning and Drafting, Design Drawing and Color Rendering, Residential Interiors Design, Business Practices for Interior Designers, Materials and Finishes, Commercial Interiors Design, and Building Systems and Structures. Other responsibilities include curriculum development/modifications, as appropriate, assisting the division dean in course scheduling, budget preparation and administration, recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating part-time faculty.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Interior Design and related professional experience required; college teaching experience preferred.

FINE ART FACULTY - TENURE TRACK

SALARY RANGE: $36,050 - $67,362 (Salary contingent on rank, credentials, and experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a ten-month position scheduled to begin August 15, 2006 (subject to available funding). The instructor will be responsible for teaching a variety of 2D fine art courses including Painting, Drawing, Color Theory, and Fundamentals of 2D Design. Will be responsible for managing the fine art studios, developing and/or revising curriculum, as appropriate, and assisting the dean in course scheduling and budget development.

REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Fine Art, college level teaching experience and evidence of recent and on-going exhibitions.
