This is an exploration in credibility, contemporary culture’s interest of celebrity and art linked to a name: A brand name.
The underlying theme of this art work is the power of a name and the power it holds in granting credibility. The artwork is not only a social experiment but a series of events that will lead to the eventual production of a physical work of art.
The process begins by distributing this letter, and asking for followers on Twitter. Once the goal of 1 million followers is reached, the 1 million @ usernames become the artwork. The names are the central focus of the piece, and with this said – credit is given where credit is due. Essentially, the credibility of this artwork comes from you. I want to try and give art back to the people who truly appreciate and support art… and to give a reason to have an invested interest in the work.
