The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University is seeking submissions for a group exhibition curated by Jeanne Brasile and Howard Hurst. Open to all artists working with textiles. The exhibition seeks to defy common conceptions surrounding fiber which is traditionally perceived a craft medium. The central issue posed by the curators is how both fine art and craft inform the artistic process of the participating artists, demonstrating that creativity can be informed by approaches which are seemingly at odds. The curators are especially interested in work which stretches the limits of the potential of fiber to present challenging and innovative perspectives. All forms of fiber art will be considered, including (but not limited to); installation, sculpture, needlework, crochet, knitting, embroidery, quilting, knot work, mixed- media, multi-media and sewn works. Medium to large-scale works in a colorful palette are especially sought after.

ELIGIBILITY
All forms of fiber art are eligible. There is a limit of 5 entries per artist. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. All work must be ready for installation or hanging.

$15/5 entries. Full color catalogue.
