Syracuse University's Department of Transmedia is seeking an artist for a full-time one-year appointment in the Computer Art program. The ideal candidate will have a significant exhibition record, substantial teaching experience, and a quality of work that is advanced in terms of technique and intellectual depth. We seek a dedicated artist and teacher with a long-term interest in the computer as an artistic medium, not just as a tool to augment other media. We are particularly interested in artists with some of the following skills and experiences: net.art, game development, and procedural art, especially real-time graphics programming.

The Computer Art program is one of the oldest in the U.S., founded more than 25 years ago. Our community consists of over 50 undergraduate students, several graduate students, along with 3 full time faculty members. We encourage our students to influence their work with experimental and non-traditional methods that embrace a range of conceptual interests, such as politics, cybernetics, aesthetics, feminism and art history. The Computer Art program works closely with the other program areas of Transmedia, which include Film, Photography and Video.

Please send CV, work samples, artist statement, samples of student work, and teaching philosophy by 1/31/07 to:
