Out-of-Sync is a collaboration between Australian media artists Maria Miranda and Norie Neumark. We have been working together for over 15 years, beginning in radio and then from the early ‘90s making work with CD-roms, installations, websites and net art installations. Visit http://www.out-of-sync.com/ for further details. Maria Miranda is a media artist based in Sydney. Norie Neumark is a sound/radio/new media artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Our most recent work starts with performative encounters in public places. The works are process oriented and are a sort of searching, both literally and conceptually. The works involve both the encounters themselves as well as sound and video documenting of the encounters, where we ‘inhabit’ the form of various documentary methods. We work ‘pataphysically - actual searches for imaginary places… imaginary solutions to actual problems.
