ZERO1 is excited to announce the 2nd round of ArtHERE: Silicon Valley open calls for the 2012 ZERO1 Biennial. ArtHERE is a new initiative and online platform that brings together community and artists to activate empty and under-used spaces by matching them with submitted art proposals. We had such a successful first round that resulted in a great selection of artworks to utilize spaces downtown San Jose that we were able to work with more local business to create a second round of open calls.

We are inviting local, national or international artists and artist teams for innovative site-specific projects at the intersection of art and technology to activate the spaces based on each locations criteria. For this round we have six great locations for artists to work with: Liquid Agency, Palo Alto Arts Commission, Touchstone Climbing Gym, MACLA–Noche Electrica, Maxxum Management Company, and Pacific Art League. All the selected projects will be installed and on view to the public during from September 12 – December 8, 2012 during the ZERO1 Biennial. Submissions are due July 29, 2012 by 11pm PST and artists must be able to be on site for installation September 8-11th.
