Engage : The Detroit Interactive Art Exhibition
October 5 ‐ 27, 2012
Reception: Friday, October 5, 2012 ‐ 6‐9pm
Proposal submission : July 31st 11.55 PM
Whitdel Arts is seeking artists to participate in their first annual Detroit Interactive Art exhibition. This exhibition will feature a variety of installation‐based art that allows the participant to engage with the artwork to create a unique experience while allowing the art to achieve its objective. We encourage artwork that entices viewers to participate in the artwork by providing an input or by becoming the input in order for the artwork to achieve its objective. We seek work in any medium that allows the participant to "walk" in, on, and around the piece. Other interaction may involve gesture, talking, touching, and biometric (face, finger print, voice recognition) input to allow the participant to become part of the artwork.
Artwork that can achieve its objective or tell a story within 2 – 5 minutes will be an important consideration in the selection process for work in the exhibition.
Possible types of artwork may include but are not -limited to:
-hybrid art
-projections
-interactive dance
-sound and music installations
-robotics
-immersive film or video environments
-digital generative art
