2Yr Visiting to Tenure Track Faculty Position in Drawing/2D Imaging
Beginning August 2013

Tenure track or two year Visiting Position. Seeking artist with a strong drawing practice to teach drawing at all levels, particularly for first year students. Artists with additional expertise in digital 2D imaging, painting and/or print media are encouraged to apply.

Multidisciplinary orientation, conceptual strengths and contextual sensibility sought to teach courses in an innovative BFA and MFA program.

Salary and benefits competitive. Start August 2013. Advanced degree or equivalent.

College-level teaching experience beyond graduate assistantships required.

Computer-based work is viewed on Mac OS X systems unless otherwise noted.

The School of Art is one of five schools in the College of Fine Arts that also includes the Schools of Architecture, Design, Drama and Music. Its undergraduate and graduate curricula include innovative media and concept classes, contextual practice, history and theory, as well as university academic study. Areas of concentration include Drawing, Painting, Print Media and Photography (DP3); Sculpture, Installation, and Site-Work (SIS); Electronic and Time-Based Work (ETB); and Contextual Practice (CP).

The School consists of 23 full-time faculty, 10 staff members, approximately 200 undergraduates and 18 graduate students. In addition to BFA and MFA degrees in Art, interdisciplinary degrees are offered in collaboration with other colleges in the university. The School of Art is actively involved with the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry and Center for the Arts in Society, unique centers for interdisciplinary arts research and education.
