An independent artist’s studio is seeking an energetic industrial designer with passion for design and art (no graphic designers please). If you consider yourself a cutting edge non-orthodox designer who endlessly seeks to expand one's horizons and like to challenge oneself with new material and techniques, we want you!
Skills:
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D software such as Illustrator, CorelDraw, Rhino and Solid works
• Knowledge and curiosity of manufacturing techniques and materials
• Ability to visualize and realize 2D sketches into complex real life objects
• Excellent motor skills and delicate hand work
• Excited to work individually and as a part of a team
• Excited to communicate with outsource contractors and suppliers to realize artist’s vision
• Handy man fabricator with previous experience and knowledge working with different tools and materials
Experience:
• Working with CNC machines. Laser cutter is an advantage
• Designing complex products
• Building real-life models in various techniques (apart from 3D renderings)
• Background in Electronics is an advantage
• Experience in a high-end design studio or established artist studio is an advantage
Education and experience requirements:
• BS/BA degree in Industrial Design
• At least 2 Years of professional experience

Miri Chais is a new media artist living and working in Los Angeles, California. Chais studied at the Hamidrasha School of Art, Beit Berl College in Kfar Saba, Israel. Her works straddle the ever-shifting borders of art, design, science, and technology, employing advanced materials and dynamic elements of sound, light, and video. Recent solo exhibitions include: Reflection/Extension, Satoshi Koyama Gallery, Tokyo (2013); In Horror in Longing, Haifa Museum of Art, Haifa (2012); No Wonder, Hangar 2 at the Port of Jaffa, Tel Aviv (2012); and Paradise, Janco-Dada Museum, Ein Hod (2012). Chais’s works can be found in private collections in Israel, Europe, and the United States.
