POSITION: Associate/Assistant Professor of Art, focused in photography. Full time, tenure eligible position. Service and committee work expected.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.F.A. degree or the equivalent. Significant photography-based background with commitment to conceptual inquiry and technical expertise. An active professional creative practice, including a record of exhibitions/presentations/projects beyond the local and regional level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should have more than three years college-level teaching experience, possess advanced wet darkroom capabilities, and be able to teach digital imaging and printing and a combination of the following; alternative photographic processes, large format photography, and/or studio lighting. The candidate must have knowledge and be well versed in the theoretical, contemporary and historical lineage of photography. This position will require a commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and creating a critical and experimental learning environment within a public research university. Previous experience in curricular development, mentoring students, and service on graduate committees is preferred. The Ohio State University is an EEO/AA employer.
