Assistant Professor, tenure-track position starting August 1, 2010. MFA, PhD or equivalent professional experience in time-based media required. Applicant must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of traditional and experimental approaches to time-based media and be engaged in contemporary and theoretical issues in art and design. Applicants should possess a record of professional development, exhibition and research.

Desirable qualifications include: post-graduate college-level teaching experience, interest in interdisciplinary practice; experience in innovative creative activity; and an understanding of current and emerging technologies and production processes related to time-based media.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Design and 4D and assume an active role in the development of curriculum and building of facilities including collaborating on the development of the new Design + 4D area. Other duties include participation in departmental duties, student advising, and service on committees that support the educational mission of the program. Faculty in the School of Art are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to professional growth through exhibitions, research, and creative activity.
