Assistant or Associate Professor of Digital Art/Graphic Design, tenure track, beginning August, 2008. Salary competitive. Qualifications: an appropriate terminal degree (MFA, MGD, MDes) in new media, digital art, graphic design or visual communication; a broad-based approach to developing new media for both fine art and design applications; Macintosh platform experience; teaching experience and professional practice preferred. Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the digital art and graphic design areas, faculty generally teach five courses per academic year; assist in digital arts program development, maintaining an active creative/ research practice; participating in curriculum development and student advising as well as performing service to the department, college, and university. THE DEPARTMENT OF ART AND ART HISTORY: The department offers programs leading to the following undergraduate degrees: BA in Art, BFA in Art, BA in Art History and BA or BS in Fashion Design and Merchandising. The department also offers the following graduate degrees: MA in Art, MFA in Art, MA in Art History, MA in Fashion Design and Merchandising. The department currently has 29 full-time faculty and a staff of 7 for 40+ graduate students and 900+ undergraduate students. THE COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY: The Department of Art and Art History is one of five departments in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts. Other units are the departments of Communication, Dance, Music, and Theatre. The College offers degrees ranging from BA and various undergraduate professional degrees through MA, MMus, and MFA degrees, to Ph.D. programs in both Communication and Theatre.
