Last chance to see Hector Canonge's interactive new media installation, IDOLatries at World Culture Open Center, Koreavillage, Flushing, NY.

Part of the "Melting Pot" exhibition of Project Diversity Queens, IDOLatries explores the representation of feminine images used on the labels and/or logos of many canned and packaged Hispanic food products.

The illustrations or representations of the female archetypes: "mother," "vamp," "saint," or "virgin" on every bottle, canned or package have been paired with a products' corresponding commercial barcode label and a visual cinematic narrative which is decoded by the viewer's direct interaction as she/he scans the product with a commercial barcode scanner.
