A National preview for the Brescia based photographer Gianluca Chiodi. On Thursday, January 30th, at 6.30 pm, Federico Rui Contemporary Art in Milan presents his solo show, “RISVEGLI – 100% BIODEGRADABILE” (Awakenings - 100% Biodegradable), the brand new project with which the artist stages the contemporary interaction between human being and the enviroment.

On exhibition, twenty-one "photographic installations" and eight encausti on panel to show in a metaphorical melee between victim and perpetrator, a paradoxical short circuit similar to the the Stockholm Syndrome, in which the hostages end up to grow fond and defend their oppressors-kidnappers. Naked bodies, wrapped into the plastic in an ideal garden, seem to dance "a deadly dance" in honor of a human being who is "more packaging than substance,". They are trapped and at the same time they play and coexist with plastic, accomplices and held hostage by the material.

The work of Gianluca Chiodi always filled with talent, creativity and irony, on this occasion become a real installation of the concept that is at the base of the project coming to conceive the artwork itself as an object of use and responsible consumption. Gianluca prints his photos on cotton paper and ends his "photographic installations" with glass, wood, cardboard. No polluting material, all 100% biodegradable.

The title of the exhibition, AWAKENING - 100% biodegradable, can be understood both as a spontaneous awareness, both as a suggestion to bring viewers to wonder about those behaviors, right or wrong, that can change the environment in which we live and questioning the mentality of men and women of the global society in order to begin to predict the future by acting on this, pursuing sustainable development, becoming responsible consumers.

The exhibition, curated by Claudia Bernareggi and accompanied by a catalog published by Vanilla Edizioni, will be open until March 15 (Tue - Fri: 15:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday by appointment, free admission).
