Working in animation, and stop motion specifically, has a huge effect on the type of films I do. Before I did animation, when I was making dumb fun little live action films, I was making gag films. Short films with one stupid joke that's been done over and over again. Essentially Looney Tunes live action. Once I started doing animation I got really hard on myself. If I'm going to spend a ton of hours on something (hours being the key thing everyone thinks about when they hear "animation") then I gotta make sure I'm really happy with what I'm working towards. The last thing I want to do in animation is make gag films, they've been made over and over again, and you need to be a genius to do something new with them. I'm not a genius, so I set out to not make a gag film. From this, Cowboy, Clone, Dust was born. Cowboy, Clone, Dust is a very personal film set in a surreal world. Every character is a combination of who I am, who I want to be, and who I think I appear to be. This is pretty clear to anyone who knows me. I don't think I want to say more, I hope you enjoy it.
