I was born in Hong Kong, grew up in North Carolina, and live in Brooklyn, NY. I am an artist and an educator. I am interested in how art can offer critical proposals for more empathetic, imaginative, and collective social relations. I examine new ways in which action, particularly performance and critical public discourse, can help to reveal injustices in existing structures of power as well as to suggest positive shifts in the lived conditions of those involved. I am interested in forms of resistance that are poetic, life-affirming, dialectic, and also humorous, awkward, and irrational.
