Counterpath gallery is pleased to present 24h Social an exhibition of new work by Denver based Irish artist Conor McGarrigle.

The exhibition marks the premiere of 24h Social a 24 hour long video installation which shows a day of Vine videos, 86,400 in total, with each video being shown at the time of its original posting to twitter. By taking this most ephemeral of forms, and extending it to epic scale, what emerges is an engaging portrait of social media, encompassing the richness of the social activity of 86,400 individuals, a snapshot of everyday life with all its humor, banality and brilliance.

The exhibition includes The BitTorrent Trilogy a series of videos made from episodes of popular TV shows - Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad - incompletely downloaded from the internet via bitTorrent with the resulting glitched videos acting as an aesthetically pleasing byproduct of the technical and social process of filesharing.
