New Brunswick Cooks! presented by FLEET

New Brunswick City Market Sets the Table and the Stage for Annual Event Saturday, September 20, 2003

Our objective is to organize an event to highlight the dining and entertainment establishments in the downtown and to promote our Special Improvement District (SID) as New Jersey's premier urban venue for dining, music, entertainment, and performing arts.

New Brunswick Cooks! will return in 2003 as a one-day event to keep program costs down and avoid confusion while creating a one-day showcase of New Brunswick's offerings. The City Market staff has attended several tasting events in the area, which have brought new and fresh ideas to this years Taste of New Brunswick, such as, opening the event to all New Brunswick restaurants/eateries and selling the event as a true taste of New Brunswick. City Market will also change the location of the event to create more space for patrons and improve the event layout by offering restaurants their own tent.

A Taste of New Brunswick - A Dine Around from Elegant to Everyday!
An exclusive party on the roof of Ferren Monthly Parking Deck across the street from Skyline Tower. This open-air sampling of signature menu items from the city's best restaurants will highlight New Brunswick as a true dining destination and will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The roof will be decorated to present an upscale but casual experience. Participating restaurants will set up under individual tents and patrons will have the opportunity to sample all of the available fare.Tickets to the event are $40 and there will be a cash bar and live entertainment provided by the Nick Clemons Band featuring the son of "The Big Man" Clarence Clemons. The Nick Clemons Band mixes rock, funk, jazz, r&b, and pop styles into an original uplifting sound which always gets the crowd on its feet! Patrons will also receive a bracelet as part of their package that will allow them to access any of the participating downtown musical venues without paying a cover charge.
