FLYING LANTERN PROJECT
-- A Solo Exhibition by Vincent J.F. Huang

Taiwan (HsinChun & Kaohsiung)˙New Zealand˙Czech˙Italy˙Korea

This is a contemporary art project.
Flying lanterns were a traditional communication tool in ancient China.
People would write down their wishes on lanterns,
Lighten them in the nighttime and lift them up in the sky
The higher up they would go, the more likely Heaven could hear their prayers.

Taiwanese artist, Vincent J.F. HUANG
Pursues his search into relationships exiting between technology and humanity.
He uses flying lanterns to express a metaphoric way the crisis induced by IT development.
Confronting Big Brother (a Technology driven world) V.S. God (a Faith driven world)

The project began in Taiwan in August 2002,
and continues exhibiting and collecting people's wishes until December 2002.
It involves six platforms in five countries.
Let's hope IT can contribute to a better world.

You are invited to capture your wishes on the Guestbook.
All wishes from around the world.
will be displayed on lanterns by projector.
and then send into the sky at night in Taiwan's Silicon Valley on December 12.
The event will be simultaneously broadcasted on the web.
