[d]vision is exploring the media void and is bringing up important issues for the competent discourse in media society. [d]vision - Festival For Digital Culture presents contemporary trends and issues in mediaculture in an independent festival for young professionals and the creative class in Vienna / Austria.

Mirko studied theatre, film and media studies and communication studies at Vienna University (A) and digital culture at Utrecht University (NL).
He obtained a magister in philosophy from the University of Vienna. Since February 2003 he is working as a junior teacher/researcher at the University of Utrecht at the Institute for Media and Re/presentation.
Currently Mirko is writing his dissertation on "Bastard Culture! Competent Users, Networks and Cultural Industries". Mirko is publishing articles on the cultural production of users and their impact on the extended culture industry.
He is interested in Internet research, actor network theory and philosophy of technology.

Experience:
He worked for three years in an Advertisement and PR Company in the field of eventmanagment (1996-2000). For two years he was working as marketing manager for an IT-Security Consulting Company in Austria (2000-2002).
Mirko was organizing and co-curating an annual festival for digital culture since 2000.
